Scientist, Entrepreneur, Adrenaline Junkie

Welcome! Take a look around, feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Howdy! My name is Christopher Barrett Ames, I was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, where I attended Brophy College Preparatory. After a wonderful 4 years at Brophy I attended Cornell University where I attained a degree in Computer Science with a focus on Robotics. While at Cornell I worked in Professor Ephrahim Garcia's lab (aka LIMS) and I joined the Cornell Chapter of Beta Theta Pi. In a Greek system of 43 houses Beta stands for its values, and not just a good time. The house has been a home away from home for Gentlemen, Scholars, and Leaders since it's re-founding when I joined.

As a very young child, I can remember asking my parents if I could build this or build that, the desire to build things has always been thriving. In the past I have built many things ranging from hardware projects like trebuchets and potato guns, to software projects like iOS projects, and game AIs. But my favorite thing to work on is robotics, because it allows me to fuse my skills in both software and hardware. Luckily for me I've got a job at TRAClabs where I get to work with robots like ATLAS and Robonaut 2.
